> Perpetual is currently a preview product. Using the order panel does not create a live position or move account funds.

### Perpetual Trading Terminal

The Perpetual terminal is designed to provide the core information expected from a derivatives trading interface.

Depending on the selected market, you may see:

* Mark Price
* Index Price
* 24H Change
* 24H High
* 24H Low
* Funding
* Next funding countdown
* Open Interest
* Price chart
* Market depth
* Recent trades
* Long / Short controls
* Market / Limit selection
* Leverage selector
* Take Profit
* Stop Loss

Trading controls are currently available for product preview only.

***

### Mark Price

**Mark Price** provides a market-reference price for the selected Perpetual product.

It is displayed prominently within the terminal and may differ from the most recent trade price.

When Perpetual trading becomes active, Elvo will publish the final rules governing how Mark Price is used within its risk system.

***

### Index Price

**Index Price** provides additional reference pricing for the selected market.

It gives users another point of comparison when reviewing Perpetual market conditions.

***

### Funding

The Perpetual interface can display:

* Current funding-rate reference
* Time remaining until the next funding interval

Funding information is currently provided for market visibility.

**Funding settlement between Elvo positions is not active yet.**

***

### Open Interest

**Open Interest** provides market information about outstanding perpetual exposure represented by the reference market data.

It can help users understand broader activity in the selected market.

Open Interest displayed during the current preview should not be interpreted as open positions held by Elvo users.

***

### Price Chart

Each supported Perpetual market includes a live chart for market analysis.

Users can use the chart to review price movement and market conditions before the full trading product launches.

Chart activity does not create an Elvo position or order.

***

### Market Depth

The Perpetual terminal includes a live market-depth view.

It may display:

* Bid prices
* Ask prices
* Quantity
* Aggregated depth
* Adjustable price grouping

This depth is provided for **market reference purposes**.

It is not currently an executable Elvo Perpetual order book.

***

### Recent Trades

The terminal can display recent market activity including:

* Price
* Quantity
* Buy or Sell direction
* Timestamp

This information provides additional context about current market conditions.

It does not represent completed Elvo Perpetual trades.

***

### Long and Short

The Perpetual order panel includes:

#### Long

Represents the planned workflow for opening exposure that benefits when the market price increases.

#### Short

Represents the planned workflow for opening exposure that benefits when the market price decreases.

At this time, selecting Long or Short does not create a real position.

***

### Market Orders

The **Market** option demonstrates the planned workflow for entering a Perpetual position using current market conditions.

Execution is currently disabled.

Submitting values in the preview does not create an order or reserve account funds.

***

### Limit Orders

The **Limit** option allows users to preview entering a specific desired price.

The interface may allow you to configure:

* Margin
* Limit Price
* Leverage
* Take Profit
* Stop Loss

These settings currently remain part of the product preview.

***

### Margin

The order panel includes a Margin field representing the amount intended to support a future Perpetual position.

During preview mode, entering a margin amount does **not**:

* Deduct account funds
* Reserve your balance
* Create trading exposure
* Open a position

Margin trading will become functional only when Elvo officially activates Perpetual execution.

***

### Leverage

Each Perpetual market has a maximum leverage preview configured by Elvo.

The terminal allows users to explore leverage settings from **1x** up to the maximum supported by the selected market.

For example:

**NVDA → up to 5x**

**BTC → up to 20x**

Changing leverage during preview mode does not affect your account balance or create financial exposure.

***

### Take Profit and Stop Loss

The Perpetual ticket includes optional:

#### Take Profit

A planned position-management feature for defining a target level.

#### Stop Loss

A planned risk-management feature for defining a stop level.

These controls are currently part of the interface preview.

They do not create active conditional orders while Perpetual execution remains disabled.

***

### Positions

The terminal includes a **Positions** section for the future Perpetual product.

When execution becomes available, this area is intended to provide visibility into active positions.

Currently:

**No live Elvo Perpetual positions can be created.**

***

### Open Orders

The Perpetual terminal also includes an **Open Orders** section.

This area is reserved for future Perpetual order activity.

Because execution is not yet enabled, preview interactions do not create live Open Orders.

***

### History

The planned Perpetual trading interface includes a History section for future position and order activity.

Preview interactions are not recorded as completed Perpetual trades.

***

### No Funds Are Reserved During Preview

The current Perpetual interface does not reserve, deduct, or settle your Elvo account balance.

Using the preview does not perform:

**Margin Reservation → Order Execution → Position Creation → Funding Settlement**

These functions will only become active after the Perpetual product officially launches.

***

### Spot vs. Perpetual

Elvo Spot and Perpetual currently have different product states.

| Funding settlement | Not applicable | Coming Soon |

For currently executable trading, use:

[**Elvo Spot Markets →**](https://elvo.exchange/markets)

***

### Before Perpetual Launch

Elvo will publish the final product rules before real Perpetual trading becomes available.

These will include applicable details for:

* Margin requirements
* Leverage
* Position limits
* Trading fees
* Funding
* Liquidation
* Risk controls
* Supported markets

Until the product is officially activated, all Perpetual order-entry controls should be treated as **preview only**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://elvo-exchange.gitbook.io/elvo-exchange-docs/perpetual.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
