# Fees

Understand Elvo Exchange Spot trading fees and how maker and taker fees are applied to completed trades.

## Fees

Understand Elvo Exchange Spot trading fees and how maker and taker fees are applied to completed trades.

### Spot Trading Fees

Elvo applies trading fees when a Spot order is successfully executed.

Current Spot fee rates are:

| Liquidity Role | Trading Fee |
| -------------- | ----------- |
| **Maker**      | **0.05%**   |
| **Taker**      | **0.10%**   |

Trading fees are applied to actual completed fills rather than simply placing an order.

***

### Maker Fee

The **Maker fee is 0.05%**.

You are considered a maker when your order adds liquidity to the Elvo order book before another order executes against it.

A typical example is a Limit order that:

1. Is placed at a price that does not immediately cross existing liquidity.
2. Remains on the Elvo order book.
3. Is later matched by another order.

The resulting fill is treated as a maker execution.

***

### Taker Fee

The **Taker fee is 0.10%**.

You are considered a taker when your order consumes liquidity already available on the Elvo order book.

Examples can include:

* Market orders
* Limit orders that immediately cross existing liquidity
* Triggered orders that execute against resting liquidity

***

### Limit Orders Are Not Always Maker Orders

Using a Limit order does not automatically guarantee the maker fee.

A Limit order can execute immediately if its price crosses an existing order.

For example, if the best available sell order is priced at 100 and you submit a Buy Limit order at 101, the order can immediately consume that available liquidity.

That execution is treated according to its actual liquidity role.

***

### Market Orders

Market orders attempt to execute immediately against available Elvo liquidity.

Because they consume existing order-book liquidity, Market order fills generally receive the **taker fee**.

Current taker fee:

**0.10%**

***

### Fees Are Applied Per Fill

One order can execute through multiple fills.

For example, an order may execute:

* 2 units at one price
* 3 units at another price
* 5 units at another price

Each fill records its own execution details and applicable liquidity role.

The total fee associated with an order therefore depends on its actual executions.

***

### Where the Fee Is Deducted

The fee asset depends on the direction of the completed trade.

#### Buy

For a Buy execution, the trading fee may be deducted from the asset received.

The net amount credited to your account therefore reflects the applicable trading fee.

#### Sell

For a Sell execution, the trading fee may be deducted from the quote proceeds.

The amount ultimately credited reflects the applicable fee.

Elvo records the resulting settlement in your trading history.

***

### Example — Maker Trade

Suppose a Limit order qualifies as maker liquidity and executes with a value equivalent to:

**1,000 tUSDG**

Maker fee:

**0.05%**

Fee equivalent:

**1,000 × 0.05% = 0.50 tUSDG equivalent**

The exact fee asset and settlement are determined by the executed trade.

***

### Example — Taker Trade

Suppose an execution has a value equivalent to:

**1,000 tUSDG**

Taker fee:

**0.10%**

Fee equivalent:

**1,000 × 0.10% = 1.00 tUSDG equivalent**

The final settlement shown in Elvo reflects the actual fee charged for the fill.

***

### Estimated Fee Before Trading

The Spot order form can display an estimated trading fee before you submit an order.

This estimate helps you understand the potential cost of the trade.

However, the final fee is determined by the actual execution and liquidity role.

> An estimated fee should not be treated as the final settlement amount until the trade has executed.

***

### View Actual Trading Fees

After execution, open the **Trade History** section in the Spot terminal.

Trade History can show:

* Market
* Buy or Sell
* Maker or Taker role
* Execution price
* Executed quantity
* Trading fee
* Net settlement
* Execution time

You can also review trading activity from:

[**Orders →**](https://elvo.exchange/orders)

***

### No Fee for an Unfilled Order

Simply submitting an order does not create a trading fee.

Trading fees are associated with completed fills.

If an order is canceled without any execution, there is no trading fill on which to charge a trading fee.

If an order is partially filled before cancellation, fees apply only to the portion that actually executed.

***

### Trading Fees vs. Withdrawal Fees

Trading fees and withdrawal fees are separate.

#### Trading Fee

Charged when a Spot trade executes.

Current rates:

**Maker: 0.05%**\
**Taker: 0.10%**

#### Withdrawal Fee

Applied when withdrawing an asset from Elvo Exchange.

Withdrawal fees can vary by asset and are displayed on the Withdrawal page before submission.

[**View Withdrawal Details →**](https://elvo.exchange/funds/withdraw)

***

### Deposit Fees

Elvo does not treat a normal blockchain deposit as a Spot trading execution.

Any network costs associated with sending assets to Elvo are determined by the wallet or platform from which you initiate the blockchain transaction.

Always review the sending platform's network fee before confirming a deposit.

***

### Fee Summary

| Activity                 | Fee                             |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------- |
| **Spot Maker Execution** | **0.05%**                       |
| **Spot Taker Execution** | **0.10%**                       |
| **Unfilled Spot Order** | No trading execution fee |
| **Withdrawal**           | Asset-specific                  |
| **Deposit**              | Sending-network costs may apply |

***

### Fee Rates May Change

Trading and withdrawal fee policies may be updated as Elvo Exchange develops.

Always review the current fee information displayed in the Elvo interface before submitting a trade or withdrawal.

The applicable trading fee is recorded with the actual execution.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://elvo-exchange.gitbook.io/elvo-exchange-docs/trading/fees.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
