# Getting Started

Welcome to Elvo Exchange. This guide will help you set up your account, configure your security settings, fund your account, and access Spot trading.

### 1. Create Your Elvo Account

Go to [**Create Account →**](https://elvo.exchange/register)

Enter your:

* First name
* Last name
* Email address
* Country
* Password

You may also link a supported Web3 wallet during registration. Linking a wallet at this stage is optional and can also be managed later from your account security settings.

After submitting your registration, Elvo will send a **6-digit verification code** to your email address.

Enter the code to verify your email and complete account creation.

> **Tip:** Only use an email address that you can access securely. Your verified email is used for important account and security actions.

***

### 2. Complete Your Security Setup

After creating your account, complete the security setup before actively using your Elvo account.

Go to [**Security Settings →**](https://elvo.exchange/account/security)

Elvo provides additional security options for protecting your account, including authenticator and linked-wallet controls.

You should then configure your sign-in protection from:

[**Login Security →**](https://elvo.exchange/account/login-security)

Elvo Login Security requires at least **two security methods** to be selected.

Available methods may include:

* **Email OTP**
* **Google Authenticator**
* **Web3 Connect**

The security methods available to you depend on the security options already configured on your account.

> **Recommended:** Complete both **Security Settings** and **Login Security** before depositing assets.

***

### 3. Deposit Assets

Once your account is ready, you can fund it from the Deposit page.

Go to [**Deposit →**](https://elvo.exchange/funds/deposit)

Your Elvo account is assigned a dedicated deposit address.

Before sending assets:

1. Select the supported funding network shown on Elvo.
2. Copy your Elvo deposit address.
3. Verify the address in your sending wallet.
4. Make sure you are sending a supported asset.
5. Send the transaction.
6. Wait for the required network confirmation.

Supported deposits are detected automatically. Your Elvo balance will update after the deposit has been confirmed.

> **Important:** Always verify the network and destination address before sending assets. Assets sent through an unsupported network may not be recoverable.

For complete instructions, see **Assets → Deposit**.

***

### 4. Explore the Markets

After funding your account, open:

[**Markets →**](https://elvo.exchange/markets)

The Markets page lets you browse the Spot markets currently available on Elvo Exchange.

Select a market to open its trading interface.

***

### 5. Start Spot Trading

From a supported market, you can place orders directly through the Elvo trading interface.

Elvo Spot supports order functionality such as:

* **Market Orders**
* **Limit Orders**
* **Buy and Sell**
* **Open Orders**
* **Order History**
* **Take Profit and Stop Loss** where available

A Market Order executes against available Elvo liquidity, while a Limit Order allows you to specify the price at which you want to buy or sell.

For a complete walkthrough, see **Trading → How to Trade**.

***

### 6. Manage Your Assets

You can view your balances and account activity from:

[**Assets →**](https://elvo.exchange/assets)

From the Assets section, you can access:

* Account balances

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://elvo-exchange.gitbook.io/elvo-exchange-docs/welcome/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
